A team without a game, a parent company looking to focus inward. It has never been a more perfect time for EA to triple down on its key games and franchises and the stars have aligned for Respawn to make a single player sequel to critically acclaimed FPS Titanfall 2.

EA's portfolio of games has virtually everything you could want, and with its previous owned team having shelved its latest FPS project, it makes perfect sense for them to pivot towards its long dormant Mech Shooter franchise. Respawns internal teams have long since refined FPS mechanics from Titanfall 1 and 2 in its Battle Royale spinoff Apex Legends, with next generation consoles at their finger tips what other reason would they need to jump back into this world.

Correction from Video since I missed it.

Battlefield 1 release date - 10/21/2016
Titanfall 2 release date - 10/28/2016
CoD Infinite Warfare release date - 11/4/2016

Still think the argument stands EA was trying their hardest to undercut CoD sales by flooding the market and unfortunately Titanfall 2 underperformed because of their poor decision making.
